11) The rest of your life phase - Phase 4 (my abstract from P&I)

  1. After the 3 week maintenance phase (also known as Phase 3), be sure to add your carbs back in slowly. Take note of what makes you gain weight. Start with healthy low glycemic carb like oatmeal and Ezekiel break or sweet potatoes or brown rice.
  2. Keep drinking your fluid (always and forever).
  3. Be sure to continue to watch the scale and remain within 2 pounds of the last day of taking hCG. If at ANY point you are above 2 pounds, immediately do a steak day (again, this is now a part of your life). See menu item Oops! I gained more than 2 pounds - the Steak Day
  4. You can now eat or drink any foods you wish. Continue to weigh daily and see how the various foods you introduce effect your weight. Adjust your intake in accordance with what you discover about your own unique response to foods.

    Dan's observations:
    • Q: "How much can I eat on phase 4 (the phase immediately following the 3 week maintenance phase known as Phase 3)?"
    • A: "As much as you can without gaining weight."
    • Q: "Huh?"
    • A: "Makes sense doesn't it? You are being good and slowly adding back in sugars, sweets, starches or really sweet fruit, but you want to also figure out how much you can eat. Portion control. If you don't learn it, you will just boomerang. At first you will maintain, but eventually you will return to your old weight."
    • Slowly add sugars, starches and sweets - always watching your weight each morning. Watching your weight each morning is an every day thing for the rest of your life, by the way.
    • If you over-do it, a steak-day will be a necessary balance to the out of balance day.
