Down 1.8 lbs over night, but more importantly, I feel better today. I don't feel bloated, etc., I had chinese for lunch though! I skipped dinner (wasn't hungry).

april 29, 2008 - day 104 (weight 207.4 - down 51.1)

Down 0.6 lbs even with the cheating. Am trying a natural laxative today. We'll see if it helps. Lunch was chicken and asparagus, an orange and grissini's. Dinner was steak, tomatoes, cucumbers, an orange and grissinis.

Ouch. Up another pound over the last 2 days. Trying to do an orange day. I know, but I didn't have apples for an apple day. Didn't make it. Had melted cheese on tortilla chips. Plan to make a decision tomorrow.

Stayed in Miami. Don't know my weight. Having to figure out how I am going to get past this little bit of hunger. It is too much to ignore. I know it means something. Either I take a break, or I take something to supress the appetite. Maybe green tea? I also need to take x-lax or something. I feel bloated and stopped up.

april 24, 2008 - day 99 (weight 205.4 - down 53.1)

Gained 0.4 lbs. I am a little hungry to start, so I am already up against it. I am thinking about taking a break. Chicken, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, little green onions, Lynn's salad dressing (using only allowed ingredients) a grapefruit and grissini's for lunch.

april 23, 2008 - day 98 (weight 205.0 - down 53.5)

Gained 1.8 lbs. It is water retention, even though I cheated, normally I wouldn't bounce 1.8 lbs after cheating, I'd stay even. I definitely did not drink enough water yeasterday though. I will try to be better today. From past experience, I know it is water. Did fine for lunch, with chicken, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, an apple and grissini's. Dinner was chicken, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucmbers, and grapefruit. Midnight snack was cheating (I found my families stash of junk food).

april 22, 2008 - day 97 (weight 203.2 - down 55.3)

Down 0.4 lbs. Chicken, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, Lynn's salad dressing, a grapefruit and grissini's for lunch. Chicken, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, Lynn's salad dressing, a grapefruit and grissini's for dinner. Also had some canned pears with whip cream, and cheese burritos. OK-I was a bit hungry and cheated. I admit it. I have been fighting it because I let the hCG get ultra low again. 2 days in 1 week is the max. Any more and you are critical. I missed my dose last night and that combined with missing 2 days on my trip with another day just before and I pushed it too far. Now I need to TRY to hold the course here. I am tired of eating the limited diet and WANT TO BE DONE.

No loss from yesterday. For lunch I had chicken, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and Lynn's special salad dressing, strawberries and grissini's. Dinner was talapia, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, Lynn's salad dressing, a grapefruit and grissini's. I also had some cookie dough.

april 20, 2008 - day 95 (weight 203.6 - down 54.9)

Down 3.4 lbs. Used my last of batch 3 this morning. I have been taking 0.3 ml per dose, so it goes a lot quicker. I didn't have enough bacteriostatic water, so I used 0.4 ml of filtered water. Also didn't have any needles, so I did my best without them. Wow do needles work a lot better!! Lunch was chicken, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, an apple and grissini's. Dinner was shrimp, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, an apple and grissini's.

Down 0.2 lbs. Now I need to start behaving. Unfortunately, I forgot my lunch today. Lunch was nachos. I had chicken, and salad with lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I am a bit hungry today and I am sure that the 2 days of skipping hCG on my trip, coupled with forgetting to take it once a day before has made the hCG a little too low in my body. Last time it recovered in a day or so.

Up 1.4 lbs from last weigh in several days ago. Ended up getting caught on a college tour with my son and without the correct type of foods to choose from, so I just did the best I could. Dinner was similar, but involved half a candy bar. I figured what the heck.

Gained 4.4 lbs on this trip. Mostly water I am sure, though I did eat some stuff not on the diet, I generally stuck to the plan. Nothing for breakfast and lunch and Chinese for dinner. No sanctioned food in the house.

On travel. Brought my hCG this time. No problem in the checked luggage with a bunch of ice packs. Due to the registration being in the food area, I found it too difficult to just drink coffee. So I did eat some breakfast foods for breakfast. I skipped it for lunch and will skip breakfast and lunch tomorrow and Thursday now that I know.

Down a pound. I will be on travel and mostly doing the chicken, cherry tomatoes, apple and grissini thing. I also won't have a weight until Saturday. I am NOT packing a scale! I DID buy real chicken at the deli counter (boneless/skinless), without the corn starch and sugar in the normal lunch meat. Hopefully I can behave. I hae been doing pretty good, but I am bringing my wife and will want to wine and dine her, so we'll see. I saw a Larry the Cable Guy commercial for NutriSystem and something he said puts a whole new spin on the amount of my weight loss. He said he lost 4 bowlig balls he was carrying around his waist. The official weight for a bowling ball is 16 lbs. which would be the one guys use. I have lost 3 1/3 bowling balls worth of weight. Wow!!! Oh my gosh that is a lot!! A little under 2 bowling balls to go! Dan

Down another 1.40 lbs, even with the beef. Lunch was chicken slices, tomatoes and grissini. No fruit as the orange had black in the top inside once peeled. Dinner was chicken, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucmber, an apple and grissini's.

Down 1.40 lbs again.

I think it is skipping the beef-and behaving, but I am thinking that skipping the calories and fat in beef is helping me be consistent in hunger and weight loss. My meals have been very similar the past 3 days. That's what my brother Nolan did. He had the same thing morning and night. Chicken, tomatoes, an apple and grissini and his weight loss was extremely consistent all the way through.

I feel much more in control these past few days. Hopefully, I am on to something here. I am going to try to skip beef until I am down to weight and on maintenance.

And be as consistent as possible with the water.

Oh and I now weigh less than when I moved to Florida, 8 1/2 years ago.

Now for some sobering facts - sobering for me anyway.

Of the 78 days;

I lost weight on 49 days
I had zero weight loss or gain on 17 days
I had weight gains on 12 days

I drank plenty of water on 41 of the 78 days
I drank what I would consider a marginal amount of water on 28 additional days
I had way too little water on 9 of the 78 days

I had (way) too many calories on 30 of the 78 days

I was hungry on 1 of the 78 days
I had minor hunger, or you might say what my mind interpreted as minor hunger on 25 of the 78 days.

When I really did get hungry on day 60 because my hCG started running out (3 days with no hCG in 4 days), I was acquanted again with real hunger. I think the minor hunger is a combination of the stomach shrinking and the body posturing to intake calories.

Interesting to note that in the areas I plateaud due to cheating, I would have had plateaus anyway due to sustaining that weight for prolonged periods of time. At least per Dr. Simeons book and clinical trials.

Down 1.40 lbs from yesterday. I'm liking this. Did the sliced chicken, tomatoes, orange and grissini's again for lunch. Chicken, tomatoes, and apple and grissini's for dinner.

Lost 2.80 lbs from yesterday. What a difference a day makes. Must have been carrying a lot of water. Ate sliced chicken, cherry tomatoes, an orange and grissini's for lunch. Had chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, apple and grissini's for dinner.
