Down 4.0 lbs. No I didn't start dieting again. Yes, the laxative worked.

Dieting restarted today. Already cheated a little...:)

One strange thing I have been coping with for the past month to month and a half is constipation or slowly moving colon.

Even with cheating my BMs are about every week and a half and then they are slow and difficult.

I have been taking the recommended daily dose of a fiber laxative for 2 1/2 weeks. A week ago I doubled it. Twice the daily recommended maximum. Today I took three times the daily maximum of x-lax tablets AND the double daily dose of fiber laxative.

We'll see what happens.

Never had this at all before. Always had regular BMs every two to three days. Small amount, but consistent.

By the way, my company contest ended for the biggest loser and it wasn't me. I did lose 13% of my body mass during the contest which like put me in the top 5 for my group. Think if I had done this normally. Completely different outcome.

Only down 0.8 lbs despite doing everything correctly again. I was expecting 1.2 to 1.6 pounds. Could be 1 of three things. #1 The chicken I am using is pre-prepared, so even though it seems the same as what I have been using, it may have calories I am unaware of and the package is gone, so I cannot confirm. This also matches nicely with when the weight loss tailed off. #2 You aren't supposed to start exercising while in the active weight loss portion as it can take 1 to 2 weeks for your body to adjust. This makes sense, since I don't have the level of energy I normally do, which could be explained by the fact that my body hasn't yet been able to compensate via mobilizing fat. #3 I have been drinking decaf tea before bed to stave off hunger and maybe not eliminating all the water by morning weigh in. I am pretty sure this is at least part of it. This also matches nicely with when the weight loss tailed off. or it could be a combination of these things. I am going to switch back to the raw chicken or fish and leave the rest as is and see if it was the chicken. I figure the rest will take care of itself over time. This has to start tomorrow though as I didn't have time to buy meat and have dinner with me already, since I got straight to church on Wednesday's to assistant direct in the production ministry.

Down 0.6 lbs. Not what I needed and I ate perfect and worked out a little bit more than my 1.4 and 1.6 lb loss days. I'll just keep plowing on.

Down a pound but falling behind the level I need to win my work competition (needed 1.6 pounds for that). I need to walk a half hour or do stairs to lose the required amount.

Needed 1.2 lbs and only lost a pound, but although I dieted correctly, I did not walk yesterday and had a pretty slothful day overall. I will of course take it. Happy birthday to my brother Nolan.

Down 1.6 lbs. Needed 1.4, so that is good.

Behaved and all that although I did find out this morning that what I thought was diet soda was not diet, so I ate an extra 160 calories. Glad I only had one.

Needed 1.4 lbs and got it. Sore calves though from doing 19 flights of double tall stairs at work. Also did not cheat or depart from the diet even slightly.

Calorie-wise, I ate well enough to lose weight (less than 500 calories), but I still gained 0.4 lbs. Guess Mac & Cheese the night before was a delayed hit.

Down 0.4 pounds. Results of the approximate halfway point are out for my work contest. I am in 7th place. If I can stop cheating on my diet every day and actually added working out, maybe I can stage a comeback. Probably a bit “tortoise and hare” at this point, but at least I am losing weight overall. I typically do good on the first meal and do bad on the second meal of the day. Not horrible usually, but bad enough to keep from averaging between 1 and 2 pounds loss a day as per usual. Also bad for you following me, because you don't get to see what is possible on this diet. Only my half-hearted attempt.
