Down 0.8 lbs. Had steak, a salad with tomatoes, grapefruit and grissini's for lunch and same except strawberries for fruit for dinner. Went to a movie and had popcorn. Only cheating today.

february 28, 2008 - day 43 (weight 222.0-down 36.5)

Down 0.6 lbs, even with the cheating, but the remarkeable thing is this morning in the mirror was a noticeable shape difference. My belly overhang is gone today. My pants, which were good fitting yesterday, are lose fitting today. I think I'll take some measurements tonight and see. My face, neck and legs already looked thinner, but the torso looked a smaller version of the same shape as when I began. Now they are catching up. And today the hunger is better. Had steak, salad with tomato, grapefruit and grissini's for lunch. Had Tilapia and tomatoes for dinner. Oh yeah, I really, really cheated too. Found those snickers, twix and mint girl scout cookies Lynn hid.

february 27, 2008 - day 42 (weight 222.6)

Down 1/2 lb, even with the cheating. I have been at least a little hungry for about a week now. Having a hard time not cheating, but it isn't like I am real hungry or famished or anything. I am trying to go to a 0.3 ml dose, up from 0.25 ml and see if it helps. Should start to notice tomorrow. First day of eating just 3.5 oz of vegetables at each meal. 3.5 oz is less that I expected. I did cheat on girl scout cookies again. 5th day in a row. Better get this under control. Another big bit of news is my good friend and co-worker Tracey has started now, through Transformations Clinics. He has some health issues and wanted to have a clinically monitored weight loss. It will be so nice having someone literally right across the aisle from me doing it with me. Also, my brother-in-law Van has restarted again, this time trying to go with a larger dose and following the diet more closely.

february 26, 2008 - day 41 (weight 223.2)

Forgot to weigh this morning, so I assume I stayed steady since I cheated. For lunch I had sirloin tip steak, broccoli, an orange and grissini's (269 cal). For dinner I had chicken, and tomatoes, grissini's, an apple, and cookies (busted!!). I reposted the calorie count list, with more choices and more calorie counts, specifically listing what 3.5 oz of each vegetable is, alphabetized, and listed ALL white fish, even the ones I did not calorie count. I also listed the link of a reliable place to check calories for certain items. According to avereges, if you ate red meat for only one meal, and for lunch and dinner had 3.5 oz of meat, 3.5 oz of vegetables (you can double the quantity of radishes or cucumbers if you choose them), either an apple, or and orange, or a grapefruit, or 10 large strawberries, and a grissini or melba toast, then you would always be close to 500 calories for the day (average 480 calories). I am going to start to not worry about calories any more and just follow this method. That will make life a lot easier.

Down 0.2 lbs, though I took a break and had lasagne. Not quite as satisfying as I imagined though!! For lunch I had chicken, and salad with tomatoes, an apple and grissini's. For dinner I had sirloin tip steak, and celery. I cheated on m&m's too.

Down 0.6 lbs from yesterday, not bad considering I cheated, worked hard and neglected water. Lunch was chicken, cucumber, radish, strawberries and grissini's (193.65 cal). I decided to take a break and had lasagne for dinner. I figure that although it adds a day at the end, it may keep me from quiting. Since I am going straight through, I won't get the stuff I am missing until mid-April, and I don't have the willpower to wait that long.

february 23, 2008 - day 38 (weight 224.0)

Down 1.4 lbs. I was mildly hungry again, and again down over 1 lb. I am not giving into that hunger anymore. I am just trying harder to avoid the temptation to eat, so I can lose my max each day. For lunch I had haddock, 1/2 tomato, and 1/2 cucumber, strawberries, and grissini's (227.61 cal). For dinner I had Tilapia, and a salad with cucmbers, lettuce and raddishes. I also cheated and at a bunch of cookies. My brother Tim is going to take his 3 week break now, after 40 days of injections. I had mentioned that I had a total of 60 days worth of hCG (20 days on first batch due to testing and doubling my dose, and 40 days with second batch), and don't want to waste the rest, so I was thinking of just continuing. My brother Tim said he read that folks using oral solutions don't get immunity problems. I did a bunch of research and found Millenium Medical Spa gives users 60 days to start with, and tell them they don't have to take a break unless they want to. I have added a link on my left menu on the Releana diet with that info, and with their version of the diet, which is very similar, only noteable exceptions are they allow broccoli and cauliflower, 2 diet sodas a day and other sparking waters too, and in addition, they just do 3 1/2 ounces of vegetables and don't calorie count at all. So 3 1/2 ounces of protein, 3 1/2 ounces of vegetables, and fruit has to be 6 hours apart too. They don't mention melba toast either, but it is carbs so I would continue that. I think I will add broccoli and cauliflower to my list. I will also scan and link the Transformations version of the diet too. Measurements; Day 38 (34.5 lbs) (7.7 lbs per inch in chest) Tummy (at belly button) = 44.0 in (down 3 1/2 inches!!) Chest (at nipples) = 44.5 in (down 4 1/2 inches!!) I am down 1.6 lbs from yesterday. Seems when I am just a little hungry, if I can keep from cheating, I end up losing the most that day. (Total 527.55 cal - oops). Update on my sister Karin: she stopped 1 week (for the feminine thing), and has started again. She is still down 10 lbs overall.

DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...

DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you are just going to treat this as if it is any other diet fad. This is not another diet fad. The only reason this works is the hCG-period. If you try the Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) WITHOUT hCG, you will have the shakes and be faint and famished within 3 days. With the hCG, you body consumes the excess fat for food and you NEVER get the shakes, feel faint or feel famished (until you get immunity or lose ALL excess fat). You will feel hungry as you stomach shrinks. You can then eat a tomato or a cucumber or an apple or an orange. This may delay the goal weight by a day (maybe, maybe not), but at least you are eating the right stuff. DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you are not going to read the "Pounds and Inches" manuscript at least TWICE. There is a refined scientific method in the manuscript, that was developed over thousands and thousands of clinical trials on patients, over 30 years. The method was meticulously worked out so it works for EVERYBODY. Not following the method will lead to eventual failure and the regaining of ALL the weight you take off. It's a 54 page booklet. You can do it. DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you are not going to do it at least 21 days. IF you don't do this diet for 21 days, you hypothalamus is NOT reset and you will just gain back all the weight. Your body won't keep track of the fat storage until after 21 days. DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you think you can just try it out and see if it works for you. You have to be committed to this. It isn't easy. It is harder than other diets because it takes a commitment to both eat exactly as the method dictates AND take the medicine. What is easy about this diet, is the weight loss. If you follow the rules AND take you hCG, the pounds come off so fast your head literally spins - OK well not literally. Almost, though. Really-I am down 31.4 lbs as I write this and I feel like I just started. DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you aren't going to be completely dedicated to following the VERY STRICT rules. I can't say this enough - NO, you can't eat carbs (other that the grissini's). NO, you can't keep drinking regular soda. NO, you can't substitute your favorite (steak, vegetable, fruit) for the items on the allowed list. If you do this protocol half heartedly and with no commitment, you not only WILL fail, but since you failed, everyone around you watching with hope, will think this doesn't work, when in truth it was you, who by not following the protocol, didn't work. DO NOT DO THIS DIET IF...you don't believe you can survive on 500 calories a day, no matter how heavy you are to start out. Some people think, "Well I am bigger," or "I require more food than the average person." Well, you are wrong. All the food you need is around you waist. The bigger you are, the more you have. The more you need, the more is available - right there, around your waist. The VLCD is meant to give you protein for muscles and brain and a little quick energy, which also keeps you normal fat stores topped off. If you did start this diet for all the wrong reasons, but really do want to lose weight like everyone else who is on the diet, then go read the "Pounds and Inches" manuscript (again if necessary), get more hCG, figure out what "allowed" protein you are going to eat 3 1/2 ounces of ...decide which fruit to have (an apple, or an orange, or strawberries, or 1/2 grapefruit)...pick up some grissini breadsticks or melba toast (you get one)...and then choose from the "allowed" vegetables, the balance of the 250 calories. Do the same 2 times daily and drink A LOT of water, and as much coffee or tea as you want and nothing else. If you get hungry, eat an apple, or an ornage, or some strawberries, or celery, or a tomato, or a cucumber. Try to subtract the calories for the day, but if not, it is OK. HINT: Green tea is an appetite suppressant.

No loss, but I worked hard, didn't drink enough water and cheated on cookies yesterday, so I will gladly take a "no loss" day. For lunch I had 93/7 ground sirloin over cucumbers and tomatoes, an apple and grissini's (270.15 cal). For dinner I had chicken, celery, a radish, and apple and grissini's (204.9 cal). (Total 475.05 cal).

update on others doing the hcg/pounds and inches diet

My brother Nolan is done now, having reached his goal weight of 170 lbs. He is nearing the end of his 3 week concluding phase (you do it every time you come off hCG). During this phase your body continues to absord extra skin and tighten up muscles and skin and firm you up. You can eat more, but you don't eat sugars and starches until after this phase. He is doing well and I'll update his final stabilized weight and post a picture, if I can get one. My brother Tim is down 28.6 lbs now and is continuing on. He is on day 38. My sister Karin stopped 1 week for the feminine thing and has started again. She is still down 10 lbs overall. My brother-in-law Van ran out of hCG and I am not sure if he is continuing. My friend and co-worker Jerri started again 2 weeks ago and is down 7 lbs, but hasn't been eating strictly. She has lost about 50 lbs now overall on hCG. Her brother also started 2 weeks ago and is already down 18 lbs!!

After returning not just the original scale, but it's replacement, I decided I better open packages and test them all until I got one that was very consistent. I am talking the most expensive scales at Walmart-none of the most expensive were accurate. One I stepped on 5 times and got 4 different weights, ranging 5 pounds, like the one I was returning. 6 scales later, I found the glass one, which was actually consistently accurate, and is accurate to 0.2 lbs too. Now with my new scale, I weigh 229.0 lbs this morning, down 1/2 lb from my previous weight on the scale I returned. Don't know the accuracy, but at least it isn't more!! I feel I can trust the scale again. I cheated a bit on cookies early in the day, so I just had two oranges, a tomato, and 2 grissini's today.

I am down a pound from yesterday to 229.5 lbs. I did notice that if I stand on my scale one way, it reads 2.5 to 3 pounds different than if I do another way. This may explain the 2.5 lb gain I had a while back. I am going to return the scale and get a different one. Had chicken, tomatoes, an apple and grissini's for lunch (284.4 cal). I had Tilapia, a tomato, an orange and grissini's for dinner (193.4 cal). (Total was 477.8 cal)

Did everything right yesterday, but no loss. Can't figure this diet out. Today I had a bite of haddock (tasted bad so I didn't finish), cucmbers, and a tomato, an orange and grissini's (152.4 cal). For dinner I had a taco salad (93/7 ground sirloin, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and taco seasoning). I also snacked on some girl scout cookies. Well the good news is that I am lighter than I have been in years. Last year, with a lot of effort, I got down from 248 lbs to 235 lbs for a trip to Cancun, but even at 235 lbs back then, I look thinner now at 233 lbs, beacuse I lost proportioantely everywhere. Also, as opposed to a year ago, I have hope this time of maintaining the weight loss.

february 12, 2008 - day 27 (weight 233.0)

Down to 233.0 lbs from yesterday morning.

I actually measured my cups at work and found they aren't as big as I thought, so I wasn't getting as much water as I thought. Still got 8-10 oz. glasses, but though I was getting 10. Yesterday I drank about 100 oz. of water. I am trying to get 5-20 oz. bottles down a day. That is 3 liters and is a better recommendation than 64 oz. from what I read (2.5 liters for ladies).

I did my first dosing using my dosing syringe, rather than the dosing bottles and it was very easy. That is the way I would recommend anyone do it, who is going to go the sublingual/oral method.

For lunch I had Sirloin tips, cucumber and tomatoes, an orange and grissini's (323.25 cal).
For dinner I had Tilapia tomatoes, and 10 strawberries (179 cal).
(502.25 cal total).

I updated another chart that I made that compares things such as weight loss and water intake. Once I updated the water values based on my findings from measuring my cups yesterday, i found an interesting correlation. #1 My weight loss has fluctuated, as has my hunger level. I had already seen a correlation in my daily loss, related to water consumption, now I can see a correlation to the other two items as well.

Down one pound from yesterday (235.0 lbs), but still a half pound above my lowest. Carrying water around my waist. I can feel it. I am actually going to measure my cups at work and see how much I have actually been getting. Lunch was Sirloin tips and a cucmber, an apple and 3 grissini's (292.85 cal). Dinner was Haddock and tomatoes, an orange and 1 grissini (209.03 cal). (Total 501.88 cal).

Went the wrong direction yesterday and gained a pound and a half. I only ate 426 calories, but I used a taco seasoning and didn't drink enough water. This is the second time I used taco seasoning, and last time it didn't impact weight loss, so it must be the water or a combination. It'll come off if I can keep up the water. Lunch was a chicken salad, with lettuce and tomato. Also an apple and grissini's (220.9 cal). Dinner was chicken slices, and salad with tomatoes and lettuce. Also and apple and grissini's (220.9 cal). (440.8 cal total).

february 9, 2008 - day 24 (weight 234.5)

Down 2-1/2 lbs to 234.5 lbs. Wow!! I was very tempted to snack yesterday and it seems, now that I think back, that on the days I am hungriest - those are the days that I lose the most weight. I don't think the hunger is like the hunger once you come off or become immune. That is supposed to be overwhelming. Maybe this bit of hunger and temptation is normal. Glad I don't have it all day every day. Measurements (all standing); Tummy (at belly button) = 45.0 in (down 2 1/2 inches!!)--(no further loss) Chest (at nipples) = 46.0 in (down 3 inches!!)--(2 more inches since last measurement) Neck = 17.0 in (down 1/2 inch)--(no further loss) Hips = 43.5 in (down 1-1/2 inches)--(1 more inch since last time) Upper Thigh (r) (at inseam) = 26.0 in (down 1-1/2 inch)--(1 more inch since last time) Mid calf (r) = 16.5 in (1 inch)--(1 more inch since last time) Bicep (r) (arm outstretched to front) = 13.0 in (down 1/2) / (flexed) = 15.5 in (same)--(both same as last time) Butt = 44.5 in (new measurement) For lunch I had chicken and a cucumber, an apple and 3 grissini's (249.1 cal). february 8, 2008 - day 23 (weight 237.0)

Down another pound and a half, to 237.0 lbs. Lunch was chicken and a cucumber/tomato/celery salad, and an orange and 2 grissini's (239.4 cal). Dinner was 93/7 lean ground beef patty and tomatoes, an orange and grissini's . (Total calories, 498.55) I am going to try to eat as close to 500 calories without going over as I can, in an attempt to head off the next days hunger.

february 7, 2008 - day 22 (weight 238.5)

Lost 1-1/2 lbs, down to 238.5 lbs. My weight is down 20 pounds overall and 17.5 lbs from my preloading weight. I am averaging a 0.83 lb loss per day. This average has been heavily impacted by my cheating. Maybe I'll make it up if I can be good. Also, I added and average loss column to my excel spreadsheet and uploaded it. Have minor hunger today. I want to make a couple comments on how this weight loss plan is different than the other ones I have done. I am talking about how I feel, and observations I have had. On other weight loss programs I have done, I have immediately felt all my fat turn gelatonous. With this one I am looser, but not gelatonous. On other ones, the hunger was a big problem, and would at times be overwhelming. I could overcome it with lots of protein for a while, that is if I could get a lot in my body right away, but ultimatley I would get huge carbo and sweet craves and would binge. With this one, I have had hunger at times, mostly at night after dinner, but they actually are minor in comparison to other plans I have done. The cravings I have had are more based on missing the great tasting junk food, and there has been snacking, but not binging so far. On other weight loss plans I have done, I would get real light headed, and feel completely out of energy, and even yucky. With this one I haven't had any of those and have actually felt energized. On other plans I would wake famished and on this one, for the most part, I get hungry at 11 AM. On other plans the weight loss was inconsistent, on this one, even if you don't lose for a day or two, you hold steady and lose inches anyway. All of this is really described as normal for this diet in the "pounds and Inches" manuscript. That's what make this diet different. Also, you can keep it off after you finish, as opposed to the other plans I have tried. For lunch I had Sirloin steak and tomatoes, an apple and grissini's (274.65 cal) For dinner I had a taco salad with salad, 93/7 ground sirloin, tomatoes and cucumber and grissini's (227.15 cal) (total of 501.8 cal)

Lost 1/2 lb overnnight to 240.0 lbs.

This is day 21 which means that my hypothalmus has been reset after today.

Lunch was chicken and salad, 10 strawberries and grissini's. (200.15 cal)
Diner was cube steak, cucumber, and tomatoes, 10 strawberries and grissinsi's (269.15 cal)

Based upon my excel spreadsheet, looking at the treadline, I would be 235 lbs today if I hadn't cheated all those days. I had a pretty steady line going and it has shifted. I may make this up if I can stop cheating, but it is interesting food for thought and motivati0n.

february 5, 2008 - day 20 (weight 240.5)

No weight loss again due to the snacking yesterday. I feel less hungry today though, so I think I can resist temptations. 93/7 ground sirloin and salad with cucumbers, an orange and grissini's. (263.95 cal) For dinner I had chicken and spinach, an orange and grissini's. (191.9 cal) (455.85 total) I mixed my second batch tonight and updated the recipe and process and shopping list with lessons learned. The mix without the sodium bicarbonate has a PH of 6.4, which is between the required 6.0 to 8.0, so the sodium bicarb is not required. I tried adding just a little bit to see how hard it would be to get exactly 7.0, but it went off the scale high. So, even a few grains is too much, so I suggest just being happy with 6.4. I also filmed and will try to edit the footage and get it uploaded to youtube and then link it back here. I will reshoot it next batch in 2 months, so I can have it reflect the method that I have refined. For instance, I think a dosing syringe or a dropper will be the best delivery method. I have those on order, and since they are not here, I did it the old method. Since the dose is only .25 ml now, it doesn't feel I am getting enough in my mouth as opposed to lining and staying in my dosing bottle. The dosing dropper or dosing syringe will correct that problem. The new batch is much better though. It is real smooth and without taste, or maybe a slight sweet taste from the sweet glycerine. It is almost immediatly absorbed since it is only like three drops. No burning. No alcohol taste at all. Plus the calories of the solution have to be lower as well.

No weight loss overnight, but I am pretty happy with that considering the snacking I did last night. Tri-tip and tomatoes for lunch, with an apple and grissini's. 93/7 Ground Sirloin for dinner with salad, tomatoes and cucumber, 10 strawberries and grissini's. I cheated again though (darn cookie dough, err dang lack of self control, or something like that).

february 1, 2008 - day 16 (weight 243.5)

Down a 1/2 pound to 243.5 (actually still 1/2 pound higher than my lowest while on the diet). I am off meds today, so something ought to break. For lunch I had Talapia and asparagus, and an apple. Ran out of grissini at work. (203 cal) For dinner I had cube steak, salad with lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, an orange and 4 grissinis. (290.8 cal) (512.8 cal total) My first batch only will last me 21 days, which means there has been a lot of waste. I have ordered more now, but since it will take a while to arrive, I will borrow some from my friend Jerri and mix more Monday night. I will try to video tape it so I can upload to youtube and ref on my site.
